PRKC works with participating organizations and communities on initiatives (projects). Each initiative has an area of interest, concern or importance and the initiative leads work with interested members of the community to develop and leverage public and private institutions as appropriate.

PRKC Initiative Process

Each initiative has its own Lead that is responsible for setting and tracking goals and timelines, networking with partner organizations, shaping and evolving the  initiative with broad community input, and getting the word out to community members and volunteers.

Vision documents are developed by the community or parent organization most directly affected and circulated widely in draft form.  When the Lead has broad community input and consensus from the parent organization, PRKC will either work with the UAC or help present to the King County Council and request the Vision be ratified by Council Motion. After a Vision is ratified by the Council, the Lead will, with community input, prepare an Implementation Recommendations document for County consideration.
