Salmon Farming in British Columbia movie preview. A documentary in which many prominent scientists and First Nation representatives speak their minds about the salmon farming industry and the numerous problems associated with it. The preview also shows Wild Fish Conservancy scientists as they collect juvenile salmon samples and record their findings in Clayoquot Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Biomimicry Talk.  TED Talk. Janine Benyus describes 12 sustainable design ideas from nature. 

"The Story of Stuff". A fast-paced 20 minute video which makes the connections between environmental and social issues and consumption of everyday products.

"Running the Numbers".  Seattle artist Chris Jordan looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics.

Environment and Conservation:

King County's YardTalk SeriesYardTalk is a natural gardening show that demonstrates how to easily care for yards and gardens in a way that's good for people, pets and the environment.

Wildlife in Teanaway River Drainage Basin (near Cle Elum, Washington). A landowner mounted remote video cameras and captured these images.

"In Land Conservation, 'Forever' May Not Last"  is part of the NPR Changing Landscapes Series.

Global Warming:

Tree Mortality in undisturbed forests
A recently published study has revealed increased tree mortality in undisturbed forests, and scientists believe climate change is the cause. KUOW’s Weekday featured several prominent local forest health and ecology experts in a discussion of this issue.

"It's All About Carbon".  A humorous animated chemistry lesson in 5 three minute parts.  Be sure to start at Part 1.

"In a Forest's Breath, Deciphering Climate Clues" is part of NPRs Climate Connection Series which talks about how and what people are learning about how forests intake carbon dioxide.
